(Trans - inclusionary) shelters and houses as many as 90 people each day and more than 300 persons in a year. Hundreds more use Adsum services and support without ever staying with us, often related to their basic needs for safe and affordable housing, food, clothing and connection.
ACNS offers a wide variety of programs and services targeted to our diverse communities. You’ll find everything from knowledge sharing and prevention techniques, to workshops, support and programs for individuals, community groups and health professionals.
The Youth Project can provide chest binders and gaffs to youth (aged 25 and under) in need. With your binder or gaff, you’ll receive a sheet with wear & care instructions.Apply to change your sex designation if you identify with a gender that’s different from the sex shown on your Birth Registration. When you apply to change your sex designation, you can also apply for a new Birth Certificate that shows your changed sex designation.“Coming Out As You” is a new pocket-sized resource that can help you navigate your own coming out experience in a safe, thoughtful way. Remember, everyone’s experience is unique! After thinking it through you may decide not to come out – and that’s ok too. Egale works to improve the lives of LGBTQI2S people in Canada and to enhance the global response to LGBTQI2S issues. Egale will achieve this by informing public policy, inspiring cultural change, and promoting human rights and inclusion through research, education and community engagement. Elderberries is a social group for LGBTs aged 50+Transgender peer support for adults in Nova Scotia Gender Spectrum works to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments for all children and teens.
