(Trans - inclusionary) shelters and houses as many as 90 people each day and more than 300 persons in a year. Hundreds more use Adsum services and support without ever staying with us, often related to their basic needs for safe and affordable housing, food, clothing and connection.

ACNS offers a wide variety of programs and services targeted to our diverse communities. You’ll find everything from knowledge sharing and prevention techniques, to workshops, support and programs for individuals, community groups and health professionals.

The Youth Project can provide chest binders and gaffs to youth (aged 25 and under) in need. With your binder or gaff, you’ll receive a sheet with wear & care instructions.Apply to change your sex designation if you identify with a gender that’s different from the sex shown on your Birth Registration. When you apply to change your sex designation, you can also apply for a new Birth Certificate that shows your changed sex designation.“Coming Out As You” is a new pocket-sized resource that can help you navigate your own coming out experience in a safe, thoughtful way. Remember, everyone’s experience is unique! After thinking it through you may decide not to come out – and that’s ok too. Egale works to improve the lives of LGBTQI2S people in Canada and to enhance the global response to LGBTQI2S issues. Egale will achieve this by informing public policy, inspiring cultural change, and promoting human rights and inclusion through research, education and community engagement. Elderberries is a social group for LGBTs aged 50+Transgender peer support for adults in Nova Scotia Gender Spectrum works to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments for all children and teens.The Nova Scotia Rainbow Action Project (NSRAP) seeks equity, justice, and human rights for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Nova Scotia.Pflag Canada is a national charitable organization, founded by parents who wished to help themselves and their family members understand and accept their LGBTQ2S children. We envision a province where positive sexual health is held in the same regard as any other area of wellness, and people are able to enjoy their sexuality free from shame and violence, with access to judgement-free services when and where they need them.We offer support and advocacy for individual women, and are a member of the Pictou County Sexual Assault Response Team.Our centre has two mandates: direct service and social change. @QueerArabsHFX (Trans - inclusionary) Tearmann House is a 15 bed shelter that offers support, information, understanding and practical assistance to abused women and their children. The 519 is committed to the health, happiness and full participation of the LGBTQ2S communities. A City of Toronto agency with an innovative model of Service, Space and Leadership, we strive to make a real difference in people’s lives, while working to promote inclusion, understanding and respect.Totally OUTright in PEI & NS is a FREE, sexual health leadership program for young gay, bi, two-spirit, trans and queer (GB2STQ+) guys from across Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. It’s for young men who are interested in meeting other guys, and learning more about their sexual health and overall well being.Trans Family Nova Scotia is a peer-support organization that welcomes trans identified, gender queer and questioning people along with their parents, partners and other family members as well as trans allies in general. The Valley Youth Project is open to all youth, 25 and under, who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, transsexual, transgender, intersex, two-spirit, queer, or questioning, as well as to straight and cisgender allies. We provide free transportation to our youth events for anyone from Kings, Hants, or Annapolis County.We're an award-winning sex shop and bookstore with something for everyone. Anyone who’s turned off by traditional sex shops will find us a welcoming and informative place to get cool and sexy stuff.Wayves is an independent publication, published by a non-profit collective. It exists to inform lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgendered people in Atlantic Canada of the activities of their communities, and to promote those activities and support their aims and objectives. We accept articles from anyone, anywhere.The Youth Project is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing support and services to youth, 25 and under, around issues of sexual orientation and gender identity. We have a provincial mandate so although we are located in HRM, we travel around the province to meet with youth in other communities. We provide a variety of programs and services including support groups, referrals, supportive counselling, a resource library, educational workshops, social activities.
